Sophia Karakosta, MYP personal project writing a novel

MYP Personal Project Inspiration

VIDEO INTERVIEW: Sophia Karakosta is a student at Platon School in Athens, Greece. In this interview, Sophia talks about her MYP Personal Project, and why she decided to write a novel for her MYP Personal Project. She also talks about why she loves reading books. This video is a great resource for MYP teachers seeking to inspire their students to start enjoying reading books for fun, rather than finding it a boring or stressful experience.

For those who are unfamiliar with the MYP (Middle Years Programme), it is an international curriculum for Middle School students in IB World Schools. IB World Schools support the IBO’s mission statement: “The IB develops inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through education that builds intercultural understanding and respect.” Reading books for fun (rather than just to get good grades and get into a good university) is a sign of an inquiring mind.
