GUEST SPEAKER: Professor, researcher, and experienced School Counselor, Dr. Amy Gaesser, shares top tips for Counselors and EFT Practitioners to help students and staff with stress and anxiety in school. Dr. Gaesser is a Mental Health Counselor-LP, National Certified Counselor, and Certified New York State School Counselor with 25+ years of experience in mental health and academia, specializing in strategies to assist students and staff with stress and anxiety in school settings. She also maintains a private practice working with all ages, including youth and their parents.

EFT tapping in schools with Dr Amy Gaesser

Dr. Amy Gaesser is currently an Associate Professor of Counselor Education at the State University of New York at Brockport. Prior to her work as a professor and researcher, Dr. Gaesser was a school counselor for 16 years. She received her PhD in Educational Psychology: Counselor Education & Gifted Education from the University of Connecticut, her Masters in Counselor Education from SUNY Brockport, and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a minor in Religious Studies from Nazareth College of Rochester. 

Her present research includes meeting the social and emotional well-being of students in school settings and interventions to reduce anxiety and address trauma for children and adolescents, including the efficacy of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). She publishes and presents at international, national, regional and local levels on the effective use of EFT for stress and anxiety management, and the neurological and cognitive impacts of stress, anxiety and trauma. She is also actively engaged with professional counseling organizations, and serves as a Fellow for the Yunasa summer camps, which support the balanced development of the five aspects of self for gifted youth.
