Hi, I’m Eleni!
I’m an Educational Consultant, Youth Mentor and EFT Practitioner.
Before quitting my job to work full-time as an independent consultant and EFT therapist specialized in working with stress, anxiety and academic success, I was a classroom teacher.
Below you will find the outstanding academic success achievements of the History and IB TOK students in my care from that chapter in my career as an international educator.
TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES: Teacher of History (2012-2022) & Theory of Knowledge (2012-16), w/t additional responsibility TOK Coordinator(2015-16)
I led by example to help raise student achievement further in the May 2016 TOK Department results, compared to May 2015. Modeled ambitious expectations, both as an IB Diploma teacher of hundreds of IB Diploma students (Theory of Knowledge and IB History) and as an IGCSE History teacher.
IGCSE History
- Summer 2014: 50% A*s (school average: 31% A*), 85% achieved an A*/A, and 97% achieved an A*/A/B.
- Summer 2015: 55% A*s, 78% A*/A, and 100% achieved an A*/A/B.
- Summer 2016: 40% achieved A*, 73% A*/A, 87% A*/A/B ,
- Summer 2017: 61% achieved A* (school avg: 30%), 93% achieved A*/A (school avg: 81%) and the lowest grade was a B.
- Summer 2018: A* (13), A (6), B (2), G (1) = 23 total. (57% A*, 83% A*/A, 91% A*/A/B [the year all 3 exams the hardest IGCSE exams I’ve seen]
- Summer 2019: A* (6), A (2), B (3) = 11 total (55% A*, 73% A*/A, 100% A*/A/B). The most vulnerable group ever taught (all but 3 didn’t have learning/physical/writing disabilities or serious mental health challenges)
IB History & History EXTENDED ESSAY SUPERVISOR
- 2012-2017: 14 of my Higher Level IB History students achieved a 7. Most of my HL and SL History students achieve a 6 in the IB Diploma.
- 2012-2017: I was the EE History supervisor for 11 students, 9 of whom achieved an A or a B in their Extended Essay. Only 1 student achieved a C.
Theory of Knowledge
My work as TOK Coordinator ended with 14 TOK candidates achieving an ‘A’ in TOK, which represents 22% of the May 2016 cohort (64 DP candidates), when I decided to go part-time to reduce my unsustainable workload by stopping taking on any more big TOK classes. That’s 14% higher than the world average percentage of students getting ‘A’ in TOK, and a 4% increase compared to our May 2015 TOK results. A solid 39% achieved a ‘B’ in both May 2015 (61 candidates) and May 2016 cohorts (64 candidates).
